Not a white pillar in sight at this White House. The drama in this building is seen in the dramatic cleft gable wall, which WT Architecture cleverly kept when they restored the ruins on the Isle of Coll in the Hebrides. The South Queensferry-based practice has won a number of accolades including a RIBA award for this project. One of the earliest records of the White House was a visit by Boswell and Johnston during their travels to the Hebrides in 1773.
