One of the most exciting new pieces of work to come out of this year’s Outwith Festival is short film The Auld Grey Toun – A Soundtrack. Commissioned for the festival, the twenty minute film, made by the Liam Saunders, George Murray and Rory Buchanan of Loopmaniac Studios, focuses on the lost music venues of the Dunfermline such as famous folk club The Howf (pictured above), the place where Barbara Dickson’s career began. Up and coming local bands are featured with Dancing on Tables (pictured above, right) also providing the narration. You can see the film when it is premiered at The Dunfermline Filmhouse as part of its shorts programme on Friday 7 September. Find out more and get your tickets here.
