In part five of our local Christmas shopping guide we’re looking at fashion and beauty present ideas. Sophie Alexis, who is based in Dunfermline, is usually busy making brides look beautiful on their special day, but your could buy a voucher towards her two-hour make up masterclasses for £35. Or, for the bathing beauties in your life, try Beatitude bath and body oils. Started by Rebecca O’Connor, who is based in Gullane, her range of nicely packaged oils are paraben free; prices range from £25 for 50ml and £40 for 100ml for the bath oils. For your more flamboyant friends and relatives; embellished tights and body stockings certainly look festive. Worn by Rihanna, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga when she was on the catwalk at Philip Treacy, the tights are available online from Scottish company Bebaroque. A regular feature in Vogue, their tights are also stocked in high end shops in the United States, Canada and Australia. Another Scottish clothing company with international designer connections is Todd & Duncan Cashmere in Kinross; companies such as Chanel have sourced their cashmere here. Their shop, next to the factory sells both men’s and women’s cashmere jerseys, cardigans and scarves. It is expensive but even your most difficult to please friends and relatives would be happy with cashmere.
