The Auchterarder deli, Corbie & Cheip is hosting a German beer tasting event on Wednesday 17 May from 5.30pm. Owner Anne Schaeflein and her husband Max Schaeflien probably know a thing or two about German beer. Although they have lived in Scotland for the last 10 years, both are originally from Germany, and, the Perthshire deli reflects both nationalities; the local Scottish produce is complemented by the best of German food and drink. The wine selection also benefits from Max’s experience managing wine investments on behalf of his clients at Cellar Master & Mor. Anne’s expertise in the deli was acknowledged recently by the Scottish Food Awards when she won Deli of the Year 2017. Anne is pictured below at the Awards, with winner of the Patisserie of the Year Award 2017, fellow German, Sebastian Kobelt for his patisserie, in Linlithgow, West Lothian.
Tickets for the German beer tasting, which includes nibbles are £10. Call 01764 660200 to book tickets
Lovely picture of a lovely couple but I don’t think they actually are! Sebastian is a chocolatier from Linlithgow/Edinburgh who won an award in his own right.
Thanks for letting us know – will amend caption, cheers
Thank you, and so graciously corrected!
