Now that day trips are reinvented as daycations perhaps our fondest memories will be different.  No more being travel sick in the back of a seventies car or picnics in a layby at the side of the dual carriageway, no trying to imagine a view without the sheet of rain in front of it or travelling home in silence because the whole family has fallen out. Perhaps the current generation of daycationers will remember trips to city farms, lunches at gastropubs, and organic food from the delicatessen with the same poignant nostalgia.  Avocado Sweet is launching an occasional series of day trip ideas complete with scenic walks, good places to eat and interesting shops for browsing. Can’t promise you’ll all be speaking to each other on the way home though.
