Gorgeous live classical music on Thursday 21 July as the Chamber Philharmonia of Cologne perform a repertoire of Vivaldi, Bach, Rossini, Paganini and Mozart in the atmospheric setting of Dunfermline Abbey. The show starts at 7.30 and tickets are available from the the Abbey and the Tourist Information Centre in Dunfermline .
One of the new bars at this year’s Royal Highland Show is The Botanical Garden run by Edinburgh catering company Hickory. Earlier this year, Create in Fife launched the Fife PechaKucha at Fire Station Creative in Dunfermline. The second event in their series is now planned for Thursday 30 June at FSC, between 7 and 9pm. PK Night started in Tokyo in February 2003 – PechaKucha is Japanese for chit chat – it was originally conceived as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.

To celebrate Dunfermline’s first, and now sold out, Comic Con this weekend, here a fantastic series of very witty images by local comic book artist Colin Maxwell. Colin teaches design at Fife College and writes comic books in his spare time. His first book, King Robert the Bruce and the Wars of Independence, was published in 2014 and this weekend he launches Guardians of Scotland which he both wrote and illustrated.
