Come along and hear a series of fascinating, lightning-fast presentations at an architecture-themed Pecha Kucha evening at Fire Station Creative on Wednesday 7 September. This event, which is being curated by Create in Fife, is the second event in the Blueprint Dunfermline programme which aims to celebrate the architecture and built environment of Dunfermline and West Fife.
A superb range of speakers will share their stories with the public in the unique Pecha Kucha format – just 20 seconds per slide! Speakers include Lesley Botten from Fife Cultural Trust who will talk about Dunfermline’s new architectural landmark, the Museum, due to open in 2017 and David Fraser who will discuss the beautiful stained glass of the Abbey. Fiona Fisher will talk about conservation projects planned for historic buildings in west Fife while artist Alan Grieve will present Psychotic Geography, a unique take on 20 interesting places in Dunfermline. Tim Fitzpatrick of Red Field will present a proposal for a lighting installation in the closes and pends of Dunfermline while Neil Beswick of Stirling Developments will outline a proposed development of west Dunfermline. Artist Olga Krasanova, will present on her ‘windsock architecture’ inspired by ancient Dunfermline and Gillian McCracken from Welcome to Fife will talk about Fife’s year of architecture, innovation and design.
The event starts at 7pm and finishes at 9pm. Entry is free but places are limited: tickets can be booked in advance here.
