Adam Smith Festival of Ideas, Kirkcaldy, 17-19 March
Martha Lane Fox, Ed Balls and Brendan Cox, who will deliver the first Jo Cox Memorial Lecture, are just some of the high profile speakers at this weekend’s Kirkcaldy Festival of Ideas. Also in the festival line up is the RT Hon Gordon Brown and Chris van der Kuyl, founder and owner of 4J Studios, one of the UK’s most successful videogame developers and responsible for the multi-million selling Minecraft Console editions. Hosted by the Adam Smith Global Foundation, the festival runs from Friday 17 March until Sunday 19 March.
The Festival of Ideas seeks to build on the philanthropic and academic theories of Smith to engage people from around the world in creative and animated discussions on topics such as Cultural Life, Enterprise and Economies and Cohesive Communities as Scotland enters a period of ‘New Enlightenment’.
