Thieves of Dunfermline is a light hearted, fast paced hour’s entertainment inspired by the events and people of Dunfermline’s past. It will be performed from 3-7 December in the intimate setting of The Long Gallery in Abbot House, Dunfermline by a talented cast of local musicians and performers including Fife Provost Jim Leishman in his first acting role.  Some of the stories, which are told through drama, humour and cracking original songs, will be familiar to locals, some less so. Some are even true. The show is suitable for the whole family. Tickets are £10 and are available from Abbot House.

Two painters – one an old timer from Fife and one a young man from Poland – are painting the ceiling of a medieval house in Dunfermline. As they work they talk of the history of the town and scenes from Dunfermline’s past come to life: Malcolm Canmore choosing Dunfermline as his royal seat, the town’s prominent role in witch hunting, Margaret Carnegie reflecting on the loss of her infant daughter and the daring act of industrial espionage that brought damask weaving to Dunfermline are among the tales brought to life through drama, comedy and song.
