There are three things worth knowing about Magic City, described as a cross between Mad Men and The Sopranos. Currently airing and being talked about in the States the series has not reached our shores yet.

The three things are:

1. According to his twitter feed Xavi Alonso, the red-headed Spanish footballer is checking the series out. He is part of the best national football team ever. Spain won the European Championships 2012 and a ton of things before that.

2. Casting was a problem because they couldn’t find actresses in Miami with real boobs – 1959 when the series is set was pre-enlargement surgery. Casting director Bill Marinella said: ‘I’ve actually had better luck finding synchronized swimming groups than I did finding real boobs’.

3. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the main character at 46 is regarded as an’older hero’.
